The user can set up its TP-Link repeater manually. Follow the below mentioned instructions to setup the Tp-link RE650 Repeater using the default web URL tplinkrepeater.net
- The TP-Link RE650 can be connected to your computer wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable.
- Launch the browser on the connected computer, then enter http://tplinkextender.net default IP 192.168.0.254 in the address bar.
- After entering the default TP-Link extender login information, click Login.
- When you click on Quick Setup, you will be asked to select an operation mode.
- Select Wireless and then Range Extender as your operation mode.
- Click Search, and a list of networks will appear on the computer screen.
- Choose your wireless router’s SSID and click Connect. You need to enter the WIFI password for your home Wi-Fi network.
- Select WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and then enter the password in the passphrase field.
- Your TP-Link RE650 has been successfully linked to the router.
Note: The TP-Link RE650 should have the same security settings as your home router.
How to Set Up TP-Link RE650 Repeater via WPS Button
- Connect the RE650 to the power outlet.
- Place the TP-Link RE650 device near your router.
- When the extender is turned on, the power LED will blink a steady green light.
- To turn on WPS, go to your router and push the WPS button on the back panel.
- Please proceed to press the WPS button on the TP-Link RE650 within 2 Minutes.
- Wait until both the router and the TP-Link extender’s LED lights turn solid.
- If your range extender has two bands, repeat Steps 4 and 5.
- Place the range extender midway between the router and the dead zone.
Note- If the WPS function is not available on your primary router, you cannot use this method.
How to LOG IN TO TP-LINK RE650 AC2600 Repeater?
- Launch the browser on the connected computer, then enter http://tplinkextender.net or 192.168.0.254. A login screen will appear.
- Fill in the defult username and password for Tplink RE650 (defult username is “admin” and the password is “password”)
- Once logged in, you can access all the settings for your Tplink Repeater.
Firmware update for TP-LINK RE650 Repeater
- Launch the browser on the connected computer, then enter http://tplinkextender.net or 192.168.0.254. A login screen will appear.
- Fill in the defult username and password for Tplink RE650 ( the defult username is “admin” and the password is “password“)
- Go to “System Tools” and navigate to “Firmware Upgrade“.
- Download the latest firmware update file from the official website.
- Click on Browse and locate the file.
- Once selected, click on Upgrade. It will take up to 2 minutes to update the firmware to the latest.
- Make sure you do not unplug the Tp-Link RE650 Repeater while it’s upgrading.
