    Before installation:
    1. First you need to turn off your router, modem, and computer.
    2. After that you must connect your modem with the TP-Link router WAN port using an Ethernet cable. Also, must connect your PC LAN port to TP-Link using an Ethernet cable.
    3. Lastly remember to Turn on your router and computer and after that your modem.

    Note: Here you need to ensure you must able to access the internet with a direct connection between the main PC and cable modem. In case this trick doesn’t process, then we recommend you to contact your Internet Service Provider.

  2. Install TP-Link router with Cable modem

    Step 1
    Firstly, you need to log in to the web-based management page of your router.

    Step 2
    1. After that ensure to configure your WAN Connection class.
    2. Once you log in to your router, then click on Network > WAN which is on the left of the web page.
    3. Here you need to select Dynamic IP as your WAN Connection class which is on the right side of the web page.
    4. After that click on the Save button.

    Step 3
    Finally, just hold on for some minutes and then ensure the WAN on the status page. In case it displays any IP address, that indicates the connection between both Router and Modem is successfully done.

    Step 4
    Lastly, click on Network->MAC Clone and then click on Clone MAC Address.
    Now finally click on Save.

    Step 5
    1. In case you see there is no WAN IP address, then we recommend you to restart your cable modem and hold on for around 10 seconds.
    2. Once done then restart your router. After that, you must get a Wan IP address and also Internet access.

    CAUTION: In a few cable modems have a backup battery inside them. So, make sure to fully restart the cable modem and we recommend taking out the battery and after that unplugging the power supply.
